HVAC/PROJECT ENGINEER
Department Overview
The Engineering Department is an active and dynamic group of professionals that supports all aspects of the manufacturing and facility maintenance efforts for OsoBio. The Engineering Department provides the capacity to manufacture pharmaceuticals in an efficient, timely, and safe manner, thereby contributing to the profitability of the business unit by maintaining or modifying/replacing all utility, facility, and production equipment and systems.
The HVAC/facility projects engineer is an essential part of the engineering team and will possess the following skills:
Project Management
Help develop and manage multiple facilities projects from conception through construction. Facilities projects can be wide ranging from simple construction to equipment specification and selection to utility evaluation and replacement.
As part of leading projects to a successful completion the project engineer must be able to define, prioritize and achieve realistic, specific goals and objectives. This will involve working collaboratively with colleagues, administrative staff and managers in different departments.
To do this effectively the project engineer must be able to work with a wide range of personalities including outside contractors. This will involve handling multiple priorities and dealing with deadlines under pressure.
Technical Knowledge
The HVAC/facility projects engineer must provide technical support/guidance for the plant HVAC system. This includes but is not limited to understanding the facility HVAC system components, their function, how they work and dealing with the associated interdependent systems (steam, chilled water, heated water).
Familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, temperature controls, and process control systems in a manufacturing environment.
Must have a minimum of 4 years experience.
Desired Core Competencies Include:
- The ability to schedule, manage and review the work of outside engineering firms as well as outside contractors for equipment, facilities, utilities and other work.
- Prefer knowledge in design and proper operation of building management systems.
- Experience in developing scope of work, facility design.
- Ensure that activities stay within the budgetary guidelines.
- Identify and initiate projects for facility improvements within the guidance established.
- Produce/Support engineering documentation efforts. The ability to ensure planning and tracking of all assigned projects.
- Provide specifications and cost estimates for major equipment acquisitions.
- Assure that facility engineering drawings and associated documentation (including work orders and ECOs) are effectively and compliantly completed, updated, and maintained.

- 4 year college degree required (prefer engineering degree but not required)
